There is no "trick" to passing a test. The student must practice.
Parents & Membership holders:
All test fees and/or past due fees must be made current prior to
testing.
Membership in both the ATA Martial Arts Academy and the American Taekwondo
Association must be current.
All students testing for the rank of Camo Belt must purchase ATA sparring gear
prior to testing.
All students testing for the rank of Brown Belt must join the Black Belt Club
weapons program.
The Testing:
Be on time. On time means early.
Uniforms should meet standards, be clean, and in good repair.
The student must wear their current belt.
Please bring sparring gear and required weapons. Loaners are not
available.
Sparring gear and weapons must be ATA spec and in good repair.
Note: Weapons and Sparring Gear are "wear" items. If they are broken, in bad repair, are undersized, or need replacement for any reason, it is the responsibility of the student or parent to have them replaced quickly. If a student breaks a weapon or loses gear, it is not the responsibility of the Academy to supply a replacement.
Seating is limited...don't take up more seats that you have
to.
Parents, please keep siblings seated and do not let them run onto the floor...it's
dangerous.
Turn off all cell phones and video games. The students are concentrating, please
keep noise to a minimum.
Flash photography is prohibited.
At the end of the testing, all students may pose with the instructors for a
photograph.
Process:
Students who pass the testing will receive their new rank or mid-term
certificates after the test.
Students who do not pass the testing will be given a no-change rating.
They may attempt the test again at a later date by arrangement with Mr.
Reeve.
Please make a note of the above days on your calendar so you may keep them open. It is important that parents and students make every attempt to attend traditional testing events so the students can proudly demonstrate their accomplishments.
